Blue Hill Memorial Hospital

Blue Hill Memorial Hospital (BHMH) is a critical access hospital located less than three miles from Parker Ridge. Some of the services offered at BHMH include an emergency department, a primary care physician network, lab services, Transitional Level Care, diagnostic imaging, surgical services, rehabilitation services, orthopedic services, and oncology services. BHMH, which is affiliated with Eastern Maine Medical Center, is the recipient of many patient satisfaction awards including a Five Star Award for Patient Satisfaction in 2004 for Emergency Care, Inpatient Care, as well as awards for exceeding patient expectations.

The Blue Hill Public Library was recently recognized as one of only 256 public libraries nationwide, and one of only four in Maine, as one of America’s “Star Libraries”. The library received the second highest rating among all public libraries in Maine.

The Grand Auditorium of Hancock County

The Symphony also brings live concerts and ensemble performances to towns and schools across the state. For the convenience of Parker Ridge residents the "Symphony Bus" stops at Parker Ridge.

Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival

Kneisel Hall continues to maintain its historic prominence as one of the most significant chamber music programs in the country. This is due in great part to the leadership over the past 25 years of former Artistic Director Leslie Parnas, Acting Director Roman Totenberg, and current Artistic Director Seymour Lipkin. The Kneisal Hall Chamber Music Festival is often called the “cradle of chamber music teaching in America”. As in the time of Franz Kneisel, the present Kneisel Hall summer program provides a fine opportunity for intensive training in the art of ensemble playing.

Haystack Mountain School of Crafts
